We arrived at 5:40 and were told we were getting the next gave a table for 4 to other people about 10 min later. In the end after a lot of huffing and puffing by the hostess on the phone she put our name on the call ahead list.

I told her if I waited until we were on our way, I know they were going to be packed and I wish we had been told about the specifics of the call ahead the day before because we would have made reservations elsewhere.

She bickered on the phone about how that's not how they do things. I told her I called the day before to make reservation and was told I could in fact call at 5:00 to make a call ahead reservation.

I told her I live less than 10 min away and we were seeing a movie following dinner with our 2 adult children. She suggested I call when I was on our way. A young lady got on the phone and told me that NO, I could NOT do a call ahead because there wasn't a wait. However, I called at 5:00 p.m Friday and a gentleman answered the phone and told me I could be put on the list and put me on hold. We were told they take reservations but we could call 30-45 min to get on the call ahead list on Friday. We called on Thursday evening this last time to inquire about reservations. The food is always good and that is why we keep coming back I suppose even though after living here 18 months we have yet to have even mediocre service. We have been here numerous times and they are always packed!!! They don't take reservations for small parties but do take call aheads 30-45 min in advance (sort of). However that could happen anywhere at any time.and after all we were on the patio. Couldn't even hear the person next to me talking, and the waiter had to almost scream to us in order to be heard. The table next to us of about 15-20 people were possibly still drunk from the night before. There was no basket of bread provided before the meal like other reviewers mentioned. A tiny tiny amount of syrup was provided on one side of the toast. The french toast was layered with a rich creamy substance and sliced plums that were a little tart for my taste. I ordered the french toast, a side of bacon, and a side of poblano grits. Maybe they don't offer a lunch menu on Sunday? Lots of interesting things on our menu, 99% of them topped with an egg. (On the positive side, I am sure that heater is much appreciated on cold days/nights.) We were given a brunch menu. The couple next to us asked twice before they finally turned off the heater. We were under a very HOT heater (it was damp and a little windy but not cold). on Sunday afternoon to find standing room only, but since we had agreed to first available, we only waited about 15 minutes before being seated outside. It was so successful that a few years later, they opened a second location which was not only take-out, but an unlimited pizza buffet concept as well.I will preface my opinion on this establishment by saying I am no foodie so perhaps I just didn't appreciate the menu options and food combinations. Joe and his partner, Mike Cole, opened a 1200 square foot, strictly take-out pizzeria and it became an instant success.
